One Month In and Nothing to Hide

This Fourth of July we acquired the stomach flu from an unknown source (aka: Lori - Brett's Older Sister). Four days later, 100 Lysol wipes, 4 cans of chicken noodle soup, 2 giant bottles of gateraid and a 2 liter of ginger ale - we finally recovered. Thank goodness our ailment came in waves as you can imagine the anxiety that surrounds a house with only 1 bathroom. We managed to survive the flu but now we are faced with piled up work and prospecting (for me) that we are now wondering how in the world we are going to get caught up! Being sick is so much better when you are younger - you might have a little math homework or a few chapters to read for English (which you most likely would not have even read in the first place or even a Latin quiz in which the teacher would tell you every questions you “might” see of the quiz before you have to take it. Easy as pie compared to catching up in the real world… What I would give to go back to the days of my mom taking care of me and not a care in the world about “catching up on my work”!

Cinco De Nashville...Wedding Shower for the Pennington's, Harden's and Jone's!

We had an amazing wedding shower in Nashville hosted by our sweet sweet Auburn friends! We had such a great turn out with friends from all over the south come to celebrate with all of us! Meagan and Evan's played host to Brett, Lauren, Ryals and I all weekend. We had a great time going to all of Meg's favorite shopping, eating and paper spots! The shower was fiesta themed - pinata and mustaches included. We played so many fun games and even had an indoor hula hoop contest - which i won might i add. The whole weekend as so much fun I'm sad thinking about the fact that there are no more wedding festivities to be had! :(

It's a good thing modeling is not our day job...

Brett and I met Photographer Liana Lehman at the Atlanta History Center and Swan Coach House in Buckhead to have engagement shots done last fall. It was a beautiful day and amazing setting - but to no ones surprise we were not comfortable in front of the camera! Thank goodness Liana was able to make the shots look amazing with not much help from Brett and I.

The Engagement

The Engagement as most of you know was totally unexpected. We flew into San Francisco, spent a day playing in the city and then began our journey up the coast, into the redwood forest, through the largest tree i have even seen and didn't stop until we reached the Klamath River and JH Ranch. Brett and I hiked into a forest where Brett had once before been 7 years prior. There he had carved his initials in a tree and took me back to carve mine. A lot of hiking, tears of joy and a Joe Purdy soundtrack later we spread the great news to our parents and loved ones! The rest of the trip was amazing and Brett somehow convinced me to jump off rocks, swim across the Klamath and accept the fact that showering was something we would do when we got home. I guess the absolute high of being in love with my best friend somehow outweighed the fact that I hate heights, don't loveraging-rapid-rivers and overlook our lack of acceptable hygiene.
